Terms of service
The terms for using our website and CozyZip.
Last updated 31 October 2026.
Who we are and what these terms cover
CozyMacApps operates in Australia. Contact [email protected] for product, licence or policy questions.
These terms cover this website, the CozyZip Mac app, its bundled command-line tools and its local MCP server. They explain the permission to use CozyZip and our product commitments. Paddle's separate terms apply to purchases it processes. By using CozyZip, you agree to the applicable licence terms below.
Your CozyZip licence
- Personal: a free lifetime licence for your own personal, non-business use. Your email must be verified before a key is issued.
- Commercial: a lifetime licence costing US$5 once per person, for work for a business or organisation. Each person needs their own licence.
- Devices and features: each licence covers one person on up to three Macs, with the same archive features in the app, Terminal and MCP.
- Future updates: both licences include future CozyZip updates. This does not include separately named apps or promise that every roadmap idea will be delivered.
Lifetime means the licence has no fixed expiry or recurring subscription charge. It does not promise a particular support period, compatibility with every future operating system or uninterrupted online services. These statements do not reduce any applicable consumer guarantee.
Inspection, help and version information are available without a licence. Creating and extracting archives requires a valid personal or commercial licence. Keep your key private; do not share a one-person licence for use by multiple people. Contact support when you need help changing Macs or managing the allowance.
Prices, checkout and delivery
US$5 is the suggested contribution and the commercial minimum. When a checkout offers a higher chosen price, that amount buys the same one-person commercial licence; it does not add seats or Macs. Any applicable tax and the total charge are shown before payment. The pricing page shows current availability.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Payment-related assistance and returns are handled through Paddle's buyer support; CozyMacApps provides technical and licence support.
Paid orders are subject to the Paddle Buyer Terms and Paddle Refund Policy, together with any additional rights stated in our refund policy. Free personal registration does not create a Paddle transaction or require payment details.
After email verification or confirmed payment, the licensing service issues a key and queues its delivery to the associated email address. Spam filtering, delivery-provider problems or service limits can delay email. If your key does not arrive, check your spam folder, use key recovery or contact support. A browser checkout-success message alone does not issue a licence.
Using archive and automation tools
Use CozyZip with files you are entitled to access. Review the intended operation, destination and risk findings, and keep backups of important files. Risk findings and file-type estimates are not a malware scan or a guarantee that an archive is safe. Supported operations depend on the format; successful extraction can include skipped entries.
The local command-line and MCP processes use the invoking user's permissions. Inspection-only MCP restricts its tools, not the directories it can read. Enable write tools deliberately and review your AI client's permissions and data policies. Archive names, comments and findings should be treated as untrusted data.
Do not misuse the licence, email or checkout services, evade their abuse controls, or use the services unlawfully. We may limit requests to protect the service and investigate fraud or material licence violations. Any action affecting your licence remains subject to your applicable legal rights.
Privacy and news
Our privacy policy explains licence records, activation, support, optional statistics and providers. Essential licence emails are separate from optional blog posts and app announcements. Declining or unsubscribing from news does not cancel your licence.
Refunds and licence status
See our refund policy for eligibility and how to request help. A fully refunded or reversed commercial purchase no longer grants commercial usage rights. A refund does not automatically erase records needed for billing, support, fraud prevention or legal obligations; privacy requests are handled separately.
Open source components
Bundled open source components have their own licences and notices, available in the app and on the download page. These terms do not remove rights granted under those component licences.
Consumer rights and changes
Nothing in these terms excludes, limits or changes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Product defects, misleading descriptions and statutory withdrawal rights are handled under the law that applies to your transaction and Paddle's applicable terms.
We may update these terms and will show the revision date. Changes do not retrospectively remove an already granted lifetime licence entitlement or mandatory consumer rights. Questions or complaints can be sent to [email protected].
