Privacy policy
Your archives stay on your Mac. Here is how we handle licence, support and website information.

Privacy contact
CozyMacApps, Australia. For privacy or licensing enquiries, email [email protected].
Licences and email
Cozy Mac Apps uses your email to verify a free personal request, issue your licence, send essential licence emails and help recover your key. Your signed key contains your email; keep it private. Commercial checkout is handled by Paddle, which processes purchase, billing and tax information.
Licence records include the key's entitlement and activation identifiers used to manage the three-Mac allowance. The licensing service does not need your archive contents to activate a licence. It uses IP addresses transiently for abuse controls; the personal registration service does not store raw IP addresses in licence or consent records.
We collect information when you submit a licence or recovery request, activate or check a key, complete a purchase through Paddle, choose optional news or statistics, or contact support. Support messages may contain information you choose to share. Payment and refund events sent by Paddle help us issue and maintain the appropriate licence. Without an email we cannot issue a verified personal licence or send a key; leaving optional news or statistics off does not affect your licence.
When paid checkout is available, we record a checkout request identifier, chosen amount, policy revision agreed to, request time and expiry, status and Paddle transaction reference. These records prevent duplicate checkout creation and enforce request allowances; they contain no email address, card details or raw bot-check token. Checkout attempt records are cleaned 90 days after their expiry.
Optional news
Blog posts and new-app announcements require a separate, optional choice after email verification. The checkbox is not preselected. We record your verified email, the wording/version agreed to and when you consented. News includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing does not cancel your licence.
Services involved
- Cloudflare hosts the website and licence service, stores licence records and provides the Turnstile bot check on personal registration and commercial checkout.
- Resend delivers verification, licence and recovery emails.
- Paddle processes commercial purchases and related billing support. Free personal requests do not create a Paddle transaction.
- TryMacApps serves its badge image on the CozyZip landing page. Loading it makes a request to TryMacApps, which receives connection information such as your IP address. The badge image is requested without a referrer.
Processing outside Australia
These providers operate internationally, so information used for licensing, delivery, payment and support may be processed outside Australia. Our Resend sending region is configured as Tokyo, Japan. Cloudflare uses a global network; payment and support processing can involve other countries under each provider's arrangements. We do not promise Australia-only processing.
See the Cloudflare privacy policy, Resend privacy policy and Paddle privacy notice for their own processing. Contact us for information about our current arrangements.
Keeping and deleting records
Verified licence records are kept for ongoing activation and recovery. Unverified personal requests are removed seven days after expiry. Delivery records and anonymous budget counters are cleaned after 90 days. Consent and withdrawal evidence is kept until deletion is requested. Purchase records may need to be retained for billing, fraud prevention and related obligations.
For access, correction, withdrawal of consent or deletion, email [email protected]. Deleting licence records removes online activation and recovery for that licence. Please do not send your key, passwords or private archives with an initial request.
We may ask for limited information to verify a request before changing or disclosing records. Deleting our records does not erase a key or email copy already stored on your devices, and Paddle handles its own purchase records under its terms. Requests may be subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
Website and archive tools
The website sets no advertising cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics is not enabled in this build. Hosting providers process requests to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The site's theme preference is stored in your browser when you change it.
CozyZip processes archives locally. Its app contacts the licence service for activation and checks, and the update service for updates. The local MCP server connects through your chosen AI client; that client's own data and model policies also apply. Review the client's permissions before supplying archive reports or private paths.
Optional usage statistics
Usage statistics and crash/hang event reporting are off by default. If you opt in through Settings → Privacy, the app can send event types, app/build and macOS versions, CPU architecture, licence-plan category and a resettable random installation identifier. These statistics are separate from licence records and do not include your archive contents, filenames, paths, email or licence key. Usage events are cleaned after 90 days. Turning statistics off removes queued events.
If you choose to contact support, review any diagnostic information before sending it.
Security, questions and complaints
We use HTTPS, access controls and separate licence and usage-statistics storage. Keep your signed key and recovery/verification links private. Contact [email protected] with a privacy question, access/correction request or complaint. We will review it, seek any information needed to investigate and respond to you.
Where applicable, you can also raise an unresolved concern with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or your relevant privacy regulator. We update this policy when our practices change and show its revision date.
